Bonz-Ai Limited completes first phase of development, backed throughout by MM Pharma Limited

Press release. Rugby, United Kingdom, 20 August 2026.

Bonz-Ai Limited, the UK applied artificial-intelligence company behind the Ask Zai technology, today confirms the completion of the first phase of its development programme — funded from start to finish by MM Pharma Limited.

Bonz-Ai Limited was founded on an idea held by two co-founders: that there should be no middleman standing between a person and their AI. Turning that into working software took eighteen months and money that had to come from somewhere real.

The investment

MM Pharma Limited — an established trading pharmacy business, registered in England and Wales under company number 05554159 — has funded Bonz-Ai Limited since July 2025, and represents the sole source of external funding the company has received since incorporation. No venture capital has been raised.

The funding has been applied to development infrastructure and operating costs and is now substantially fully deployed. MM Pharma Limited holds a shareholding in Bonz-Ai Limited in consideration of the investment.

Bonz-Ai's funding position has been confirmed in writing by Onetouch Accountancy, Chartered Certified Accountants of Birmingham, from the company's books, records and bank statements. That letter sets out the amounts, dates and shareholding in full and is available on request.

What phase one delivered

Phase one produced the Ask Zai technology in full: a self-configuring assistant that takes a request in plain language and carries it out without configuration, prompt engineering or API keys; the Sisterhood, a persona system of five named personas with Zai as the eldest; a persistent memory that keeps most of what it knows on the user's own machine; real-time bidirectional voice; and an edge-first orchestration layer that routes the mechanical majority of a task to small models running locally.

That last piece is the commercial result of the phase. In a representative run, the same errand costs $20.53 and over 200,000 tokens when every step is sent to a frontier model, and $0.01 and 90 to 100 tokens when the work is broken down and kept local wherever possible.

Two UK patents were filed during the phase, including the Emotional Watcher safety system, and UK trademark applications were filed in Classes 9 and 42.

Phase two

Phase two takes the technology to customers: commercial deployments of the Ask Zai technology for businesses, teams and products, and the public beta of Ask Zai itself for households.

Statements

"We had an idea and eighteen months of work in front of us. Every idea needs a little help to get off the ground, and we would not be at the end of phase one without MM Pharma. They backed it when it was still a document."
