Bonz-Ai Limited is a UK applied artificial-intelligence company. We take AI research and turn it into working software — agents, workflows, personas, interfaces and automation that run in production, not in a demo.
The same errand, run twice. Run the usual way, every step goes to a frontier model in someone else's data centre: over 200,000 tokens and $20.53 to read an inbox, open an attachment, search the web and write a reply — each step billed at the top rate whether it needed that much thinking or not.
Run our way, the work is broken into pieces small enough that a model on your own machine can do them, and only the part that genuinely needs a frontier model goes out: 90 to 100 tokens and $0.01. Most of it never leaves the device, which makes it cheaper, faster and private in the same move.
Price decides who is allowed in. An assistant that costs pounds a day gets sold to enterprises; one that costs pennies can be sold to a household. That is an architecture decision, and it has to be made at the start. The research behind it — edge models, on-device routing and token-efficient architectures — sits with Mofy AI Ltd.
Patents. Two UK patents filed, including the Emotional Watcher: chunk-level detection of emotional change and manipulation inside a conversation, and the guardian architecture that acts on those signals.
Trademarks. UK trademark applications filed in Classes 9 and 42 covering Zai, BONZ-AI, Ask Zai and the associated figurative marks.
Domains. bonzai.ltd, askzai.co.uk and mofy.ai owned outright across the group, with the matching mail domains, held since before the companies were incorporated.
Research-generated intellectual property is held by Mofy AI Ltd and licensed within the group, so a licence can be granted, valued or transferred without unpicking a delivery contract.
There is a long distance between what a language model can do and what an ordinary person can get it to do. Most of that distance is design work: deciding what the system should be responsible for, giving it a stable identity, wiring it to the tools a business already runs, and putting an interface in front of it that needs no explanation.
That design work is our entire practice. We are the applied end of the group — research becomes product here.
Bonz-Ai is founder-led by an autistic, ADHD founder, and that is a design method rather than a biographical detail. If a system works for someone who cannot hold configuration in their head, cannot tolerate an inconsistent interface, and needs to speak rather than type, it works for everybody else too.
So we design voice-first, we remove configuration instead of documenting it, and we keep interfaces consistent between sessions.
Ask Zai is a self-configuring AI assistant with persistent memory, a family of specialised agents and real-time voice. Bonz-Ai designed and engineered it: the product design, the persona system, the desktop and web applications, the voice pipeline and the automation layer.
